T O P I C R E V I E WbellesoulCould anyone inform me how to read the speed on the natal chart?I see this on cafeastrology.. but not sure how you do it?The Moon's SpeedThe average daily motion of the Moon is 13 degrees and 10 minutes. If the Moon was traveling 13 degrees and 10 minutes or more on the day of birth, the Moon is considered to be a Fast Moon. If it is less than 13 degrees and 10 minutes, it is considered a Slow Moon. It's relatively easy to find the motion of the Moon on a birth date if you have an ephemeris. Simply take the difference between the longitude of the Moon from midnight to midnight on the day of birth and compare it to the average. A computer printout of a wheel generally shows the Moon's speed (and the speed of other planets) on the day of birth.ChaosFast Moon & slow Moon? I didn't know about that, is there a difference in their interpretation in a chart?bellesoulYeah i know, interesting isn't it?bellesoul quote:Originally posted by bellesoul:Yeah i know, interesting isn't it?Im not too sure but after reading this i think it basically means how the slow/fast moon affects ur 'mental chmistry' or how ur thinking processes are affected and react...The reason im curious is because i want to know what type of 'mental chemistry' i have.. and those of others. This is about how many degrees the Moon has travelled during the course of the day you were born on.
So - If you go to astro.com - and you create a chart for 12.05 am on the day you were born - that will give you the position of the Moon sign at the beginning of the day.e.g. Lets say it's 12 degrees Aquarius.
If you then create a chart for 11.55 pm (on the same day) - it will give you the position of the Moon sign at the *end* of that day.. e.g. Lets say it's 22 degrees Aquarius.
22 - 12 = 10, so in my example the Moon would've travelled 10 degrees from morning till night.
